SUBSURFACE: The type section is in the Well KK-OS-V1-1, Interval is 1342-1429 and thickness is 87m. Lithology and Thickness
Limestone. The lithology is consistently grey to light grey limestone with occasional thin shale beds.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lower boundary is conformably overlies Kasargad Fm.
Upper contact
Upper boundary unconformable with either Calicut Fm , Cannore Fm or Mayyanad Fm.
Regional extent
This formation is present all over the basin, except the shallower part of the shelf.

Fossils
The index larger foraminifera include Nummulies fabianii, Nummulites burdigalensis, Assilina spinosa, Lituonella sp, Nummulites bagelensis.
Age
Depositional setting
Varies from Lagoonal and restricted marginal marine towards basin margin to inner neritic in deeper part of the basin.
